For the past 10 springs or so I have hunted spring gobblers about as far from Dillon as one can go and still remain in the 406 (MT) area code; a remote corner of southeast Montana where the deer and wild turkeys really do outnumber the folks. One scribe labeled it Nowhere, SD and that surely fits but so too do Nowhere, MT or WY. As I like to point out to anyone will hold still long enough when Tom T. leaves the roost in the morning landing in any one the three states is a distinct possibility. Whatever you call it is a fine place to camp and hunt and obviously the turkeys like it, so what else? Last spring the plan was to jump start Gig's addiction and it didn't take long to set the hook deep. On the way home after punching two gobbler tags he was already planning next spring's assault and guess what? "next spring's assault" is now just around the corner, season starts in about 13 days and we plan on heading down there a day or so after opening to try our luck one more time...imagine.
